Some ideas arrive softly, like a leaf drifting onto your sleeve. Others hop straight into your imagination and light up your brain. Today brought me one of those bright little leaps.

Scrolling through Instagram, I stumbled across a glass frog — tiny, green, and full of shimmering mystery. Its skin, so luminous, blue, green, turquoise, as if it carried its own gentle lantern beneath its skin.

Right then, a new character appeared in my mind, almost fully formed.

A little frog with a glowing belly.

 A curious heart.

A name that arrived in a whisper: Glimmer.

Glimmer feels like a creature who sees the world differently. He notices the quiet things. The hidden things. The things most creatures hop right past. And I have a feeling his story will be about finding courage in the softest parts of himself.

It always amazes me how inspiration can come from the smallest corner of the day. One moment, you’re scrolling through photos; the next, a whole new world is tugging at your sleeve, saying, Let’s begin.

I can’t wait to explore Glimmer’s journey — and share the magic of this tiny glass frog as it lightens and brightens its way into a book.
